About Charmai

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, insightful, and deeply self-aware. They've done therapy, read the books, listened to the podcasts, and understand their patterns intellectually—yet still find themselves reacting in the same ways. They know why they struggle, but their body continues to respond with anxiety, shutdown, people-pleasing, conflict, or disconnection. For many people, growth involves not only understanding their experiences, but also working with the body and nervous system.

As an Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist, Breathwork Facilitator, and trauma-informed embodied therapist, I help couples and individuals engage with the emotions, protective patterns, and nervous system responses that keep them stuck. Together, we slow down enough to notice what your nervous system has learned, develop the capacity to stay present with difficult emotions, and create new experiences of safety, connection, and authenticity.

With couples, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners move beyond cycles of conflict and disconnection, fostering greater emotional safety, intimacy, and closeness. With individuals, I integrate somatic therapy, attachment-focused work, mindfulness, breathwork, and experiential approaches to support healing from trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, burnout, and life transitions. Together, we'll learn to listen to your body as an important source of information, wisdom, and healing.

Outside of therapy, you'll often find me dancing, enjoying art, reading, or exploring nature—practices that remind me that healing is not about eliminating suffering, but about learning how to be with it while remaining connected to joy, curiosity, and aliveness. My hope is to create a space where you feel deeply seen, understood, and supported—a space where healing and growth can unfold with greater authenticity, resilience, and connection.

Questions for Charmai

  • Mindfulness is the practice of coming home to the present moment with openness and compassion. It allows us to engage our inner experience—thoughts, emotions, and sensations—so that we can respond to the moment with greater attention, choice, connection, and wisdom.

  • I began my practice because I’ve always been deeply curious about what it means to be human and how lasting transformation happens. My interest in psychology, spirituality, the body, and relationships grew from a desire to better understand ourselves—why we suffer, how we heal, and how we create meaningful connections with one another. That curiosity continues to shape both my work and the way I approach life.

  • I view mindfulness as more than a practice—it is the foundation of how I approach therapy. Together, we slow down enough to notice thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and nervous system responses with curiosity and compassion, creating the awareness that allows us to move beyond simply getting through life and toward feeling, sensing, and living it more fully.
