About Kathryn - Nashville Therapist
Kathryn (she/her) completed her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with specialties in addiction treatment and play therapy and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Entrepreneurship from the University of North Carolina.
While Kathryn enjoys working with individuals and couples from all walks of life, she specializes in men’s issues, childhood trauma, spiritual and religious trauma, substance abuse, relationship/couples therapy issues, and life transitions. She primarily works with couples, adolescents, and adults. Kathryn approaches each client with humility and curiosity, creating a non-judgmental environment where people feel empowered to continue on their path toward healing and wholeness. She takes into account the unique experiences, identities, and perspectives of each person throughout the counseling process.
Kathryn is passionate about creating a safe and collaborative counseling environment where individuals and couples can feel seen, heard, and empowered. She primarily approaches counseling through the lens of Internal Family Systems (IFS), helping clients better understand the parts of themselves with beliefs, thoughts, or behaviors that keep them from connecting to their true self and those around them. She often incorporates interventions that help people and couples gain healing from trauma and extreme thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and behaviors. Kathryn has also completed Level 1 Gottman training, a research-based approach that helps couples improve communication, connection, and intimacy.
