Katie Bloomfield
About Katie
Katie (she/her) is a graduate of Vanderbilt University’s clinical mental health counseling masters program and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed a clinical internship at the Osher Center for Integrative Health at Vanderbilt, where she used mindfulness-based interventions, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and clinical hypnosis to treat patients suffering from chronic illnesses and comorbid mental health conditions. This experience, as well as Katie’s background as a yoga instructor, greatly informs her approach to psychotherapy, which often relies on mindfulness and body-based strategies for developing personal insight.
In addition to chronic pain and illness, Katie’s clinical interests include identity formation, life transitions, stress, trauma, family/relational conflict, and reproductive justice/abortion support. Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and humanistic, and she considers it a true privilege to join with clients as they move towards a deeper sense of integration, connection, and well-being. Katie is enthusiastic about working with individuals ages 16 and older, as well as couples/partners.
