About Kathy
I am a licensed clinical social worker passionate about fostering community and creating safe environments where individuals can flourish. Utilizing a calm, human-centered approach with an emphasis on individual strengths, I aim to empower clients to be the masters of their own healing. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and believe in its power to help heal our inner child. Additionally, my sense of humor helps create a comfortable and engaging atmosphere, making therapy both effective and enjoyable.
I find no greater joy than in working with clients through some of the most transformative periods of their lives. I enjoy working with adolescents, families, and young adults. My clinical experience and research have facilitated work with several challenges that can be addressed in therapy. I specialize in anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, school-based issues, and relationship issues.
I hold a bachelor’s degree of social work from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a master’s degree of social work from the University of Denver. In addition to my degrees, I earned certificates in child and adolescent trauma and animal assisted interventions. My post-graduate work was primarily focused on serving individuals and families in Colorado who have been impacted by trauma. I am so excited to continue my work in the East Nashville community!
